Minsk has a pleasantly romantic feel to it in summer with hordes of young people strolling around the city hand in hand with their lover (or a beer bottle). In particular, they gather by the Svisloch river in vast numbers. True, it’s not exacly Paris, but the combination of Minsk’s laidback atmosphere and elegantly anachronistic architecture gives the city an endearing charm. Perhaps it’s simply a lack of a highly developed Western-style entertainment industry, but there is certainly a lot of love in the air in Minsk.
