"EAGLE" passed into history as American's highest field command, after leading four U. S. Armies to victory from England to the Elbe. For the final assault on "Festung Europa" in Germany, "EAGLE" included the First, Third, Ninth and Fifteenth Armies. From the beaches of Normandy, its Armies fought across France, Belgium, Holland, Luxembourg, Austria and Czechoslovakia as well as Germany.
