The J. Paul Getty Museum Journal is a compendium of articles and notes pertaining to the Museum’s permanent collections of antiquities, paintings, sculpture, and works of art. This issue includes for the first time contributions dealing with conservation and related matters; thus, it is an appropriate tribute to the memory of David Rinne, who headed the conservation of antiquities in the J.
