In two volumes, the official participation report of Okinawa Operation submitted to the War Department. It presents a comprehensive account of the administrative and logistical support furnished by the Army agencies in the Pacific Ocean Areas. This support includes the allocation, organization, training, equipping, and mounting of the troops making up the Army portion of the assault and garrison forces. Volume I contains reports of Headquarters US Army Forces Pacific Ocean Areas, Army Air Forces Pacific Ocean Areas, Tenth Army, and Central Pacific Base Command. Volume II contains reports of Western Pacific Base Command, South Pacific Base Command, Army Garrison Forces, Replacement Training Command, Assistance rendered to Navy and Marines, Summary, and 5 annexes.
