The A-7 Corsair II has been in service for such a long period of time, and has been used by so many different units in the U.S. Navy, the Air Force, the Reserves, Air National Guard, and foreign nations, that il would take a book of considerable size to document the markings of all the units that have operated the aircraft. This title in Detail & Scale's Colors & Markings Series is the first part of several volumes that will cover the markings and paint schemes used on the Corsair II. The scope of this book is limited to U.S. Navy Atlantic coast squadrons and the markings used on their A-7Es since the end of the war in Vietnam. Part 2, which will follow in about a year, will cover post-Vietnam A-7Es in Pacific coast squadrons. A later volume will cover the earlier versions of the Corsair II in Navy service, and another volume will cover the A-7D and A-7K in USAF and Air National Guard units.
