This is the second Harrier in Action hook published by Squadron/Signal Publications. My good friend Don Linn authored the first edition in 1982. Many significant upgrades have been made to this remarkable aircraft that include engine upgrades, structural changes, new avionics, and new weapons. In addition, the Harrier is now flown by the Indian Navy, the Italian Navy, and the Royal Thai Navy. The major emphasis of this book will be devoted to the latest versions of the Harrier and the new air arms that operate the I Carrier.
Although the U.S. Marine Corps is scheduled to retire its Harriers in 2012 when the B-35 enters service, it is expected that Harriers will still be operating with foreign air arms of the world for a number of years beyond 2012.
