The B-17G Heavy Bomber is a lowwing land monoplane. It is an all-metal airplane of semi-monocoque construction powered by four Wright Cyclone R-1820-97 engines equipped with three-bladed Hamilton Standard Hydromatic propellers. The defensive armament of the airplane includes three power turrets, a twin tail gun installation and three single guns. Later airplanes have five single guns. All guns are .50 caliber.
