The book deals with the issues associated with the problem of the Russian and Ukrainian prisoners of war and internees kept in Poland, as well as the representatives of other nationalities living in the East (within the former Czar Russia) in the period between November 1918 (from the moment of the revival of the Polish State) and August 1924 (the closing of the last camps for internees in Poland). Also, the problem of transportation of the Russian prisoners of war staying in Germany, who after the end of the Great War started their mass return to their homeland via the territory of reborn Poland, is presented here. Much attention was also paid to the issue of the allied Russian, Ukrainian and Cossack divisions fighting on the Polish side in 1919-1920. At the end of November 1920, these soldiers, together with their families, were interned by the Polish authorities and placed in the camps. The problem of the internees is closely linked with the question of the Bolshevik prisoners. This results from the fact that the majority of the members of the allied divisions were the Soviet prisoners recruited in the Polish camps. The book was based on archive materials kept in the Polish and foreign archives. Also, plenty of press titles were used that appeared in the internment camps and were edited by the Russians and Ukrainians.
