The Sopwith 1 1/2 Strutter was truly a WWI aviation classic and the various two-seat versions have already been meticulously recorded in our WINDSOCK DATAFILE No. 34, first published in 1992 and also written by Jack Bruce. As promised back then, we now present this further volume that details the single-seater and bomber variants of the Sopwith LCT with over 75 rare archive photos and all-new 1:48 and 1:72 scale drawings. The big Sopwith remains a popular subject with modellers and since our first title appeared, a large number of additional kits have been issued affording us the opportunity of updating the original volume's kit list.

The single-seat l 1/2 Strutter served not only with the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Naval Air Service but with the French Aviation militaire in large numbers, while the type was also operated by Belgium, Japan, Russia and the USA amongst others. It played an important role in WWI and we are pleased to complete our coverage of the type with our 80th DATAFILE.
